    School's Qualifications:

        The school has a young dynamic faculty with great potential. In recent years, they have assumed more than 30 research projects. Of the projects, three accomplishments have gained Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, with one of them gaining the second prize and the other two the third prize. Besides, they have published more than 400 treatises, with two of them embodied to SCI; edited in chief 13 teaching textbooks and 5 audiovisual textbooks, with one of them gaining the second prize through nation-wide public appraisal.

        The laboratory center of the school covers the area of 840M. It is equipped with facilities with assets of over RMB 3 million yuan, in which a set of great equipment including ALS advanced compounding facility available for training practice cost RMB 270,000 yuan. The nursing psychology laboratory has presented a crude model for business now. It was assessed as one among the first class laboratories by the National Ministry of Education in 2002-year evaluation on the laboratories for the basic nursing teaching purposes and also assessed as one of the standardized laboratories by Shandong University.

        The clinical practice base is provided by the comprehensive " Grade3-A"level hospitals such as Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Provincial Hospital of Shandong Province and the Central Hospital of JiĄŻnan. These hospitals are all advanced in medical facilities and abundant in technical force with over 10,000 hospital beds for teaching purposes. They are functioning as principal units in medical practice, teaching work, scientific research and preventive health care within Shandong Province

     

    Academic Exchanges with Foreign countries:

        The school has carried through international academic exchanges and cooperation with 8 foreign schools. Now the school has signed affiliation agreements with Hung Kong Polychnic University and the Nursing Department of Karolinska Institute of Sweden in such areas as the nurture of nursing graduates, the partnership in nursing science and spread of accomplishments; the exchange of students; the arrangement of academic course s of lectures and the writing of nursing textbooks. Up to now, many projects have been put into operation, which builds up friendship and promotes the development of the school.

        Dr. Jian-yun Yuan from George Mason University of America, Dr. Guo-cheng Wang, a professor from Hung Kong Polychnic University as well as Dr. Barbro. castafsson and Dr. Alice.Rihell.Hermansson from  Karolinska Institute, Department of Nursing of Sweden are invited as visiting professors of the school.

     

    Research Fields:

        1.Nursing Education: the mission is concerned with curricula, teaching contents, teaching material and faculty training. It is encouraged to improve and perfect teaching approaches and to invest in the research of how to keep domestic nursing education to the world level.

        2.Nursing Administration: The mission chiefly involves the application of administering principles to nursing speciality, probing into the regularity of nursing administration and the proper distribution and full utilization of manpower pool, financial sources, time and information so as to increase nursing efficiency.

        3.Nursing Psychology: The mission mainly relates to the means for successful communication in the course of nursing work as well as the application of the theory on mutual penetration of humanity and nursing care.

        4.Clinical Nursing: The mission is directed at clinical nursing practice of different cases ranging from internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics to the seriously ill or the dying. The efforts are mainly devoted to the nursing research on First Aids, organ transplantation and ICU.

        5.Aging and Health: Science Molecular biology of aging, Aging and tumor, Aging-related degenerative diseases, Successful aging.

     

    The Quality of Graduates:

        As the graduates of the school have enjoyed good reputation for competency, the prospect for employment is good, with the rate reaching 100%. Among the graduates, about 36%are in pursuit of advanced degree and 30% promoted to the position of the director of nursing department in the hospitals of big and medium cities. The graduates of the school can be found in 40 medical schools all over the country.
