| The Nursing school of Shandong University was founded in 2000, whose undergraduate nursing program was started from 1985 among the first to restore higher nursing education. Authorized to offer M.D. program in 2000, the school has currently enrolled 20 students for master's degree and another 30 students for graduate curriculum class. There are 50 faculties in the school, among whom are 5 thesis advisors, 19 teachers with the title of associate professor or professor, including 3 with doctorate, 7 with master's and 5 studying for master's.
The school houses five teaching and research departments including Basic Nursing Science, Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Nursing Psychology and Clinical Nursing Service. It also houses a aging and health center for translational nursing research. At present the school offers teaching program in three levels: junior college curriculum, undergraduate curriculum and graduate curriculum, with the registration of more than 1000 full-time students. In addition, the school also offers varieties of programs for continuing education.
The Nursing School is the trustee members of the National High-Nursing-Education Academy as well as the High-Nursing-Education Academy of Huadong Region. Lou Fenglan, the dean of the school, is appointed to the position of vice chair by both academies. |
